Dissemination Projects
Our dissemination practices target specific stakeholder groups, providing regular, up-to-date, accessible information about our activities in multiple alternative formats. Our dissemination plan incorporates conference presentations, journal articles (peer-reviewed), web sites for the Center and at each partner site, conference exhibits, Alternatively Speaking and Augmentative Communication News , ACOLUG, Writer's Workshop, and webcasts.
Progress to Date
In October 2004, the AAC-RERC launched its first quarterly eNewsletter issue. Each issue of our eNewsletter highlights our research, development, or training projects; provides announcements; informs you of upcoming events and staff presentations; as well as contains special feature articles. The most recent issue can be viewed at www.imakenews.com/aac-rerc . You can sign up to receive the eNewsletter here on our website.
Other dissemination projects underway within Augmentative Communication Inc. are the publications of Alternatively Speaking and Augmentative Communication News. During 2004, these periodicals prepared issues that have featured wide-ranging topics that included: Access, Visual Scene Displays, Employment and Interior Dialogue (ACN) and Modes of Communication, Love and Marriage and AAC and Politics (AS).
More than 7000 newsletters were distributed during the year. In each issue of the newsletters, at least 1 to 2 pages focus on AAC-RERC activities. ACI staff also contribute to the preparation of the AAC-RERC's new e-newsletter.
